The Generosity of God
This coming Sunday, I’ll be talking about financial stewardship. If somebody were to look at your receipts, your bank statement, or your credit card bills, what would those things show?
Would they show that you have a heart for the work of God done through His church?
Would they show that, like Jesus and the prophets, you have a heart for the poor?
Would they show that you have a heart for those who suffer after a natural disaster?
Does God care about money? Join us this Sunday for worship to hear more.
After the Election
A loving reminder to all my brothers and sisters at Centenary—
Try to heed the words of our founder, John Wesley, concerning how Christians ought to conduct themselves during election season. His advice was:
Vote, without fee or reward, for the person you judge most worthy;
Speak no evil of the person you vote against; and,
Take care your spirits are not sharpened against those that vote on the other side.
Be mindful that our church isn’t a political unit of any earthly government. We’re a congregation of the United Methodist Church. Therefore, no matter who sits in the White House, the Capitol, the Governor’s Mansion, or the General Assembly, our mission is still to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. No matter what race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, income level, political party, or sexuality, Centenary’s hearts, minds, and doors are open to all.
