We live in a time when many seem to believe forgiveness is too much trouble. It’s easier to ghost somebody—cut them off—than forgive them. We also live in an age when many act as if any behavior, no matter how hurtful or offensive, is acceptable. Folks who ought to apologize and ask for forgiveness instead find ways to justify their actions.
From start to finish, scripture reveals that we need to forgive and be forgiven. The Cross of Christ is a visible reminder that God has forgiven us. God took the initiative to repair the breach between us. We need only to decide what to do with that gift and how to live as forgiven people.
Perhaps you struggle with forgiveness. Maybe you need to be reminded that God has already forgiven you. Possibly, you need to forgive somebody who has hurt you deeply. Perhaps you need to seek forgiveness from someone you’ve offended or wounded. Worship with us at Centenary this Sunday and hear the good news about The Gift of Forgiveness.
