Friday Greetings - June 26

Pastors have a tendency to live by a different calendar. When the rest of the world is experiencing Christmas, we tend to be thinking about Lent; when the world is experiencing Easter, we are working on summer plans; and when the world is sweltering through early summer, we tend to be planning for fall and the start of new programs. Disciple Bible is not a new program for Centenary, many of you are well familiar with it. It has been some years since the last Disciple I group at Centenary, and I think it is time to start thinking about recruiting for a new group.

I cannot say enough good things about Disciple Bible and all that I have seen it mean in the lives of people. I have been involved with Disciple for over 20 years now. Each year, I have seen people’s lives touched by grace and shaped by the word of God. Disciple is an opportunity for you to explore what the Bible has to say about the issues which we face each day. It is a time for growing in our faith as well as growing in new and old friendships. I believe that this is a good opportunity for you to prepare yourself to be a leader in our church, in our community, and in our world. I have seen lives changed as a result of this intensive 34 week study.

While it is a large commitment, I believe it can bring a great reward for your life:

  • You will grow in your understandings of the truth of the Biblical message. What better way to learn what the Bible actually says than to read 3/4 of the Bible?

  • You will grow in your faith and faithfulness. The goal of our study is "becoming disciples through Bible Study."

  • You will grow in your confidence as a Christian. I have seen people who knew themselves to be Christians blossom into leaders in our faith.

  • You will grow close to a group of people. Sharing for 34 weeks allows us to become a small community supporting and encouraging one another.

We will have 2 Disciple I groups, one on Monday mornings from 10-12:30 and the other on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9pm. The groups will start in August, and I will lead both of them. I am convinced that Disciple I is a chance for you to grow in your faith. I hope you will prayerfully consider being a part of this study. (Click Here to Sign Up or Ask Questions)
