Friday Greetings - June 17

Each year that Annual Conference gathers, the opening session has included the singing the words of “And Are We Yet Alive” for more than a century. The hymn includes the words:

what troubles have we seen,

what mighty conflicts past

fightings without and fears within

since we assembled last

Since last our Annual Conference assembled, much has occurred. Maybe it is my impending transition, and maybe it is the gathering of conference, in any event I find myself sentimental and reflecting on how our world has changed in the last 2 1/2 years. This isn’t my last time to gather with the saints of Centenary, but I do hope you will join the assembly this week:

— 8:30 in the chapel or on Facebook, 9:30 in the old Fellowship Hall or on Facebook, or 11:00 in the Fellowship Hall, on Facebook, or on the radio at 97.9FM.
