It is hard to believe, but it has been seven weeks since our last "normal" Sunday. Since that time, we have had blended worship, we have had two different worship styles, we have had virtual communion, we have had prayer times, we have tried a variety of worship expressions. Over the last three weeks, we have had two separate worship styles at two separate worship times. After consultation with the leadership of our congregation, I think we are best served by having 1 worship expression shared by our whole congregation. While differing styles and differing tastes is a reasonable part of our life together, and eventually we will return to a variety of opportunities for worship, for this season, I think it is better to emphasize our unity. As the old camp song reminds us, "We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord, and we pray that our unity may one day be restored." I hope you will join us by Facebook, by YouTube, or by radio for a blended and balanced worship occasion at 11:00 AM on Sunday morning.
One of the things we all miss during these days of virtual worship is seeing our friends and feeling that we are worshiping together. We would like to ask you to send us a photo of yourself and your family worshiping together somehow. We would like to share those as we gather for worship in the coming weeks to remind ourselves of all that are a part of our congregation. You can email photos to centenaryumc@centenarychurch.com
