Centenary Thru-the-Week School
We are off to a great start on the anniversary of our 40th year of preschool ministry at Centenary Thru-the-Week School. And what a wonderful time we’re having at preschool! During September we have been establishing our routine and becoming familiar with all of the different learning centers in our rooms. We have also enjoyed exploring our playground.
Our Mother’s Morning Out Classes have spent this month meeting new friends and getting to know each other. We are learning to share and take turns with our new friends and learning that we can have fun when Mommy or Daddy is away!
Our 2-Year-Old Class has enjoyed making playdough and discovering paint and chalk and glue. We have found lots of ways to have “messy fun”. We spent most of September learning about “Colors”.
Our 3-Year-Old Classes have also spent time this month reviewing “Colors” and “Shapes”. We did everything with colors from special art projects to singing about and hearing stories about the “color” of the day. We even had different snacks that represented the “color” of the day.
Our 4-Year-Old Classes also spent a little time this month talking about “Colors” and “Shapes”. Did you know that if you mix two colors together, you make another color? We also talked about “Families”. We learned about ourselves as individuals and how we are all very special and important to our families, teachers, and friends. We enjoyed talking about good manners and how to be a good friend by sharing and being aware of other people's feelings.
Our 3 and 4-Year-Old Classes are enjoying “Chapel Time” with Pastor Susan in the chapel on Wednesday mornings. And our 4-Year-Old Classes are expd to have “Music with Miss Monica” on Monday mornings. We look forward to all the wonderful things we will learn this year. “Thank You” to Pastor Susan and Miss Monica for sharing your time with us.
THANK YOU to Jen Robson and the New Dawn Circle for hosting a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon for our preschool staff. We had such a special time together.
THANK YOU to the church members that continually answer our prayers with donations to the Thru-the-Week School Fund. There are many families in our church and community that have been affected by the recent downturn in the economy. We have had parents stop bringing their children to school because they could not afford it. Your gifts continue to help us ease the stress of this situation on these young families and their precious children. And last, but most importantly, THANK YOU for sharing your children with us.
